Document retrieval in New Zealand and overseas
We obtain official records on your behalf, from New Zealand registries and from overseas authorities through our international network.
Getting an official record can be the slowest part of any application, especially when it comes from a registry on the other side of the world. We request the documents for you, follow up with the issuing office and deliver them ready for translation, apostille or legalisation.
In New Zealand we request certificates and records from the relevant registries on your behalf. Overseas, our partner offices apply locally, which is often faster than applying by post from New Zealand.
Why clients use us
- You live in New Zealand but the document is held abroad
- An application deadline is approaching
- The document must be apostilled or translated after issue
- The issuing office only accepts local applicants or local payment
- You need several documents from different countries at once
- You want one point of contact from request to delivery

Questions and answers
Which countries can you retrieve documents from?
Through our international offices and partners we retrieve documents from most countries. Tell us the country, the document and the issuing office if you know it, and we will confirm feasibility and cost.
What do you need from me?
Usually a signed authorisation, a copy of your ID and the details needed to locate the record, such as full names, dates and places. Some registries have extra requirements, which we will explain.
Can you translate and apostille the document once it arrives?
Yes. Most clients combine retrieval with translation and apostille or legalisation, so the document arrives ready to use.
